Mr Ikechukwu Onyeanyusi, in a video circulating online, said he was unaware of his wife’s alleged activities because he usually left home every morning to attend to his business.
His wife was arrested on Thursday after concerned individuals reportedly alerted authorities that she was allegedly using her three daughters and a son to create pornographic content for social media, involving sex toys.
Recounting how he discovered the alleged abuse, Ikechukwu said a friend showed him one of the videos at the market, prompting him to rush home and confront his wife.
He said she denied the allegations, claiming that the videos were AI-generated.
Ikechukwu said, “I was not aware of the video until a friend showed it to me in the market. I rushed home and confronted my wife, but she denied it, saying they were AI videos.
“As I was pushing further, police arrived and arrested all of us, including me. It was at the police station while she was being interrogated in the DPO’s office that I was called in and told she had confessed.”
The husband expressed shock and sadness over the alleged abuse, insisting that the incident came as a surprise to him.
He appealed to members of the public and relevant agencies to show compassion and support for his children as they begin the process of recovery.
The case has sparked outrage on social media, with many Nigerians condemning the alleged abuse and calling for justice and protection for the children.
Meanwhile, the Anambra State Ministry of Women and Social Welfare, in collaboration with law enforcement agencies, has taken steps to ensure that the affected children receive appropriate psychological, welfare and protective support.
The ministry also commended members of the community who provided information that helped authorities intervene in the case.
The Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Mrs Chinyere Esther Onyekesi, reaffirmed the administration of Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo’s zero-tolerance policy towards child abuse and exploitation.
